Mount Vernon Retreat

Rate | Starting at $270

After his many absences, whether for military duty or presidential responsibilities, George Washington always loved to return to his beloved Mount Vernon. This was his retreat to normal life, and he was delighted when his duties allowed him to finally return permanently to his passion for farming and a pastoral lifestyle. Fittingly, the Mount Vernon Retreat boasts a cottage red and white theme reminiscent of the colors of George’s Virginia home. The south-facing windows overlook our farm’s lavender fields against the backdrop of the majestic Olympic Mountains. Open your windows and breathe in the aroma of fresh-blooming lavender, listen to the hum of the honey bees in the field, and bask in the afternoon sunshine. As the sun sets, enjoy a bubble bath in the spa tub, then nestle in under the crisp luxury cotton sheets for a good night’s sleep.

What Guests Say About the Mount Vernon Retreat

A Lovely Place to Stay on the Olympic Peninsula. We spent two nights at the George Washington Inn in the Mount Vernon Retreat. The inn and the room were both beautiful and spacious. The pictures on the inn’s website are extremely accurate. The breakfasts were great, served on the beautiful patio. Janet and Dan were lovely and very helpful with sightseeing advice and restaurant recommendations, both before and during our stay.
A Blissful Getaway. We were blown away by the idyllic setting, the superb facilities and the outstanding service. Photo opportunities abound. We even managed to catch a sighting of a doe and her young one at sunset. We stayed in the Mount Vernon Retreat which was luxurious to say the least, and we slept like babies on a remarkably comfortable bed. All of this made for a truly blissful getaway, and we will definitely be looking for an excuse to return!
Peaceful Oasis. We stayed in the Mount Vernon Retreat. It was spacious and very well appointed. The property is in a fantastic location, backing onto the cliffs to give a great view of the sunset and fronted by fields of lavender. It’s as peaceful as you could wish for and the deer wandering around reinforce that feeling. The spa bath tub was a big hit and worked well to ease our weary bones.
