Summer is always an enjoyable season here, but even more so due to patriotic events. Many are happening so plan to spend Independence Day in this beautiful part of the country. The following is a sample of what you can expect should you take our advice and decide to visit us. Are concerts your thing? What about fireworks? Maybe you like boat parades! Whatever you have in mind, whether it is food, classical music, or a good old fashioned festival there’s an activity here to suit it.

4th of July Boat Parade — Sponsored by the Peninsula Yacht Club, boats decorated by yacht club members will fill the harbor to entertain spectators and honor our country’s freedom. The procession will be visible from the waterfront downtown, particularly at the Port Angeles City Pier. Port Angeles 4th of July Celebration — Complete with parade, bands, and a fireworks display, the town of Port Angeles is pulling out all of the stops once again for this evening celebration in our picturesque waterfront town. Oak Harbor’s 2015 4th “OH” July — Happening in conjunction with this nearby Olympic Peninsula town’s Centennial celebration, this year’s 4th of July party at Windjammer Park promises to be bigger and better than ever before. A huge fireworks display highlights an entire weekend of events filled with crafts, live music, a street fair, and more. Check out Oak Harbor’s Chamber of Commerce website for details. Independence Day Pops — Part of the 2015 Summer Season Olympic Music Festival held in Quilcene, music takes center stage as American classical favorites fill the air. Highly skilled and talented musicians will perform two shows on Saturday, July 4th, and Sunday, July 5th. Gates open both days at 11 am and concerts begin at 2 pm.
