About the Inn

Family-Owned Bed & Breakfast

The Story of George Washington Inn

George Washington Inn, a bed and breakfast on the Olympic Peninsula, sits on a high bluff overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca much like Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home, sits on a hill overlooking the Potomac River.

When this coastal meadow was purchased in 2002, the new owners, Dan & Janet Abbott, vowed to share the unique property with others and to nurture it into something worthy of its natural beauty. The Mount Vernon-like setting inspired them to build an Olympic Peninsula bed and breakfast inn that would give others an opportunity to reflect on the faith of George Washington and our founding fathers and the spiritual legacy that they left to their countrymen and their successive generations.

George Washington Inn was established with an enduring commitment to live up to the integrity and respect that the name commands. Dan & Janet remain steadfast to the high standard set by the Washington name and intend to make the inn one of the best places to stay in the Olympic Peninsula.

Enjoy George Washington’s tradition of warm, gracious hospitality as an honored guest of the George Washington Inn & Estate. Enjoy the comfort of modern luxury yet get a sense for the legacy of George Washington. Our desire is that you will be refreshed and inspired by our Creator’s incredible handiwork in the surrounding landscape and “discover a country house of an elegant and majestic simplicity” (as penned by J. P. Brissot de Warville after a visit to Mount Vernon in 1788). Find your perfect getaway in the simple elegance and comfort of the Olympic Peninsula’s most distinctive bed and breakfast, nestled along the Strait of Juan de Fuca between Sequim and Port Angeles.

Our Reviews

What Our Guests Say

“My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our 1 year anniversary trip to Washington. As we pulled down the flower lined road, we were blown away by the beauty of the Inn and property. Once inside, we received wonderful, friendly hospitality and felt right at home. From the beautiful room we stayed in, to the service, to the breakfasts, we felt comfortable and blessed to be there. Our second morning we saw a deer grazing in the backyard as well as an eagle swooping through the sky: regular visitors to this Inn. We loved every minute of our stay and we can not recommend it enough. Please make a stop here if you are visiting or live in the state!”

CHARISA N.

“It’s so easy to curl up in one of the terry cloth robes and just sit and watch the ships slide by across the water while enjoying our evening cocktail. The bath tub was glorious. The bed was divine. Where did they get those sheets?! The breakfasts were delicious. Our hosts Dan and Janet were friendly and present if needed. In general, I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast for a special get away. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and staying here made it even more amazing.”

REGINA C.

“This was our second stay at the George Washington Inn. Superb! Great rooms with view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the inn’s lavender farm. We used this spot as our base for exploring Olympic National Park. Great breakfasts with the Inn’s hosts, Dan and Janet. We’ll be staying there again.”
